I've asked at the Nautilus maillist and it turns out that Nautilus is already using stat64(). What's most likely causing these blank dialogues is that Nautilus is blocking the main thread. We would be most grateful if anyone could obtain a backtrace of this bug happening. There is a wiki page explaining how to obtain a backtrace at <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace>. Please make sure that you've installed the necessary (nautilus, libgtk2, maybe more) debugging symbols before you try to generate the backtrace, otherwise all you'd see would be numerous question marks.
