We are wondering if this is still an issue for you. If you can you
please delete all accounts in empathy(if any) and then delete
~/.config/Empathy ~/.gconf/empathy ~/.mission-control and try to create
accounts again. If that does not solve the problem can you please
install the development release of empathy from the ppa
https://launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa and see if that solves the
problem.
