Yeah, the idea is good: we should be consistent among different tools. But then the installer should be more concerned about security risks, rather than weakening users-admin. And there's the technical side, which makes this bug nearly impossible to solve with the current design. We're running 'passwd' in the background, and this command doesn't allow us to force a simple password, since that's a PAM setting. So we can't show a warning, and allow people to override it: we have to keep it or remove altogether.
