The patch is not in working order. It is just a rough idea, and perhaps I should remove it from here. Unclutter (from comment #20) seems like it would work for all programs, although I just installed it and it didn't make my cursor disappear when running "unclutter -keyword". The best thing to do would be to enhance Unclutter and then have it installed by default, and set to hide the cursor when just the keyboard is in use.
