Yes, I see what you're talking about. And no, that's not a duplicate of bug 542744 (there, committing leads to an error message).
What happens is that we don't check for actual changes when you click OK, we always commit changes. Everytime groups are involved, we commit changes to all groups, which takes some time. In the upcoming 2.10.0 version, the system-tools-backends don't apply changes when nothing has actually changed. This makes most operations must faster, especially when no changes were made at all. Plus, we no longer reload settings for each separate group commit. So I consider this fixed upstream, it should be in Lucid soon. ** Changed in: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Also affects: system-tools-backends Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: system-tools-backends Status: New => Fix Committed ** Package changed: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) => system-tools-backends (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - User Administration Tool has significantly delayed repsonse (with no feedback) + users-admin has significantly delayed response after clicking OK -- users-admin has significantly delayed response after clicking OK https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to system-tools-backends in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
