same here. Fresh install of updates, then tried to right-click on the Background to context-menu the properties. gnome_appearance crashed before I could see a window. I also have to mention that I was successfully able to change the background few days ago (before the .18 kernel update).
I just tried to get to open Appearance directly from the Preferences Menu List. Crashed without opening the window too. Appearance seems disfunctional at the moment.
