@Sebastien Bacher: Of course, I have tested all sensible things after upgrading the first computer (kernel, drivers, printer, scanners, fax, voip, etc). But I haven't tested all options of all applications, because, since Warty, I never see any regression bug in applications of Ubuntu.
I know you do your best, and I know it's not a simple task, we sincerely appreciate all your works, I don't blam you at all. I have only suggested an appreciate feature to prevent theses kind of problem. This bug was reported in August 2009, before the final release of Karmic Koala (November 2009). May be it's possible while the dist-upgrading, to look in launchpad if there is regression bugs reported, and in this case to show the subject / links and to ask if we want to upgrade the package. When I was on debian (before that Ubuntu exists), I remember the apt dist-upgrade command do this automatically for all critical bugs. This wasn't directly integrated in "apt" command, this was a plugin or another package added, but I don't remember the name. May be it's possible to do something similar, at least for the regression bugs and critical bugs ? -- evolution mail aliases regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/409795 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
