Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
Lucid Lynx (10.4) released today. I suspect this may not be a problem with gdm but the infrastructure governing logins. Here is the scenario: 1. Perform a switch user from my ID 2. Login to root (yes, I need root user access) 3. Some maintenance activity 4. Log out of root expecting to return to my ID via a lock screen 5. Blank screen requiring a power off restart Workaround: Log off instead of switch user. Everything works fine then. Comment: The new version seems to have a lot of vulnerabilities related to signing on.
