That's incredible :-(( I've just made e clean installation of 10.04 amd64 on my desktop computer and it has the SAME problem. Really, for me it's a pain. Usually I've opened with Nautilus 3 or 4 ftp connections and after some minutes they closed. I cannot do my job in this way.
