Let me help (since I'm seeing the same thing - thanks Dan for pointing out how to fix it):
* Attach an MP3 player (an Applie iPhone 3GS in my case) which does not support the playing of OGG files. * Open RhythmBox (I'm using 0.12.8 as shipped with Ubuntu 10.04). * From your music library, select a file that's encoded as an OGG and drag and drop it to the attached MP3-only device. If you have gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse the file will be converted to mp3 and copied to the device as expected. If, however, you don't have that package installed, nothing at all will happen. No error message, no copying, nothing to indicate what has (or hasn't) gone on. This is consistently reproducible. -- Rhythmbox does not transcode to mp3 or explain why https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
