initctl status gdm gives : gdm stop/waiting . I've also attached the file /etc/init/gdm.conf
very rarely the computer init is ok, most of the time it ends on command line mode asking login and password, then back to command line (startx needed, and then again password to unlock when in gnome). I suspect something related to mouse movement, eg if I move the mouse during init it fails, if I do not move the mouse during init it is okay, but really not sure, I'll try to check this point and then go back to you there. ** Attachment added: "/etc/init.gdm.conf content" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48963423/gdm.conf -- gdm crash on boot but works with 'sudo gdm' after command line login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/581302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
