Hi there. I discovered I'm able to recover from the problem with the command "kill -HUP `pidof gnome-panel`". This way the panel refreshes with all the stuff.
However, today a new sympton happens. After the first login, the gnome- panel works normally. But after some time, the me-menu and the shudown- menu vanished. So I performed the kill -HUP command to restore them It seems to be a real bug. Ciao from Italy.
