I am of the opinion that the applet's accessibility properties should be fixed instead. If users want to go into the trash, then they should find it on the panel.
Having said that, we could probably make it easier somehow if one uses an accessibility profile to install/run the live CD. I am more enclined to set up a shortcut key if possible, to open the trash.
