I already reported this long ago, that the problem doesn't happen with the Ubuntu dawn theme, only in the default theme. I've been using Ubuntu dawn & MAC icons (by the way very nice combination) for a month and I haven't seen this there since. Nevertheless, probably it has something in common with themes.
