Yes, I still have that issue and it's really annoying. I don't think this is a problem with a fresh Ubuntu-install because I haven't seen it anywhere else.
On my second computer firefox runs just fine and I think I even use the same extensions and no themes. I still also have the mousescrolling problem that was fixed some time ago. The fix worked for my dad but for me it just keeps on scrolling sideways when I scroll the mousewheel too fast. I have all the updates installed and tried the manual fix by editing xorg.conf .
