You have been subscribed to a public bug: Release: Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 (last update 6/23/10) Expected to Happen: Display goes to 0%/off when idle then returns to original brightness level before going idle on action What Happened Instead: Display brightness at active cycles until eventually becoming 0%/off
Extended Description: On my netbook an asus eeepc 900ha using ubuntu netbook remix 10.04 when using the powersaving option to both adjust the screen brightness when on battery and dim the display when idle the following is what happens: 1. netbook display at 75% 2. netbook goes idle display brightness 0%/off 3. move mouse display turns back on at 60ish% brightness 4. netbook goes idle display brightness 0%/off 5. (repeated cycle above with diminishing active display brightness) this cycle continues until both the active and idle display brightness levels are at 0% so eventually you have to manual adjust the brightness back up. The first time it happened I thought I had somehow killed my display until I manually powered off and on and found the display was still black until I adjusted the brightness levels via the built in keyboard hot keys. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Netbook display brightness powersaving adjustment loop(on battery) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/598302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
