Update: Fixed my partitions and I'm no longer getting an error running palimpsest. I imagine that gparted and other disk-oriented programs have various ways of figuring out the partition structure even w/ slightly messed-up partition tables, whereas palimpsest's method of enumerating the partitions just couldn't handle a non-standard (though non- corrupted) situation.
