Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
With no apparent reason, the X session hangs and all commands take a long time to be recognized by the system. It does not become completely unresponsive, but if gdm is not restarted, it locks the entire system after a few minutes. This bug has happened after a random time logged in, but it seems to be more easily triggered when one of these programs are running: - chromium-browser - evince - vlc I am running Lucid x64 on a Toshiba Satellite A210-19B PSAFGE Video card (from lspci): ATI Technologies Inc RS690M [Radeon X1200 Series] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: gdm 2.30.2.is.2.30.0-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-23.37-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-23-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Jul 22 12:05:00 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100429) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=pt_BR:pt:en LANG=pt_BR.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gdm ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug lucid -- Window Manager stops responding; need to restart X session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/608794 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
