ubuntu Lucid on i586, all latest + proposed updates, GNOME desktop.

it seems that only one media player can accept GNOME's keyboard shortcuts, even
though multiple players are running.
this happens with both Compiz and Metacity

to reproduce:

1. set up GNOME keyboard shortcuts for "Play/Pause" and friends. (i don't have
a media keyboard so i can't be sure whether this works with the default
shortcuts. i use win+space for play/pause)
2. start Exaile, set up a playlist and press the assigned shortcut to start
playback
3. start Totem and play a video
4. press Play/pause shortcut (to stop audio playback from Exaile)

expected result:
Exaile stops, video continues

reasonably expectable result:
both Exaile and Totem stop playback. (if one of them is paused, it resumes.
basically, command play/pause is delivered to all listening players)
this is what i'd consider a "right" solution, unless we want to get into media
player priorities

actual result:
Totem stops and Exaile continues.
this is precisely what i didn't want to happen - obviously, i wanted to pause
Exaile in order to view the video

when you shut down Totem, Exaile reacts to shortcuts again.
i tested Exaile+Totem, Exaile+Rhythmbox, Rhythmbox+Totem, Totem+Rhythmbox,
Exaile+Totem+Rhythmbox.
it appears that the application that was started the latest steals the shortcuts

** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu)
