Sorry, it has been a while.. Please note that I'm completely unfamiliar with Linux. Every now and then I'm giving it a try to see whether I would be happy to leave windows behind. Unfortunately I don't have the time right now to figure out how to install the package.
I've attached an example page of a pdf in which the columns are not selected correctly though. At least you may be able to see if you experience the same issue.. If the problem is definitely resolved by the upgrade you propose, please let me know!
