Yes, after setting LC_ALL and the Terminal encoding it sorta works - For example, Norwegian "ø" is displayed as \303, and if I try to type "å" on the shell it just blinks and displays nothing. But it's probably too late anyway; my other machines don't have this problem, and I won't be using this one anymore.
