I did a clean install of ubuntu 10.4 on a dell Inspiron 5150 (cd/dvd- drive = CDRW/DVD SBW-242).
I can burn a blank cd by means of Brasero (brasero indicates the correct number of bytes available). If one clicks on the desktop-icon (mounted device) -> properties : 0 bytes used, 0 bytes free ==> wrong number of free bytes is indicated). However if I insert a blank DVD, there is some activity on the drive, but no errors are generated (dmeg, debug , ...) nor a mounted-icon is generated. Brasero can't burn the data (no media) -- Kernel does not recognize blank optical media https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405544 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
