Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alacarte

When sorting out software items with alacarte, the "auto-launch
association" of a file is lost.

That is what to do to see the bug:
Install KmPlot package from softwarestore and you'll see it with an icon all
correct in Education submenu of Application on panel.
Make a plot and save a ".fkt" file somewhere.
In explorer the "auto-launch association" is not done and if you try to set it
you see it is not being proposed even if in alacarte you can see it.
With the explorer tool create a new "auto-launch association" entry with
command kmplot for the ".fkt" file you created: you will see that a new entry
is proposed in explorer menu but without correct icon and in alacarte there is
now a new entry also with no icon in Other sub section.
Now close explorer and in alacarte drag and drop the kmplot "auto-launch
association" entry from Other to Education. Because the drag and drop action
has copied the entry, delete the one in Other section.
Now open explorer and try to double-click on the ".fkt" file you previously
have associated to kmplot : it is lost.

I would expect that:
Explorer "auto-launch association" menu would display software available the
same as alacarte.
Also that alacarte would not break "auto-launch association" set with Explorer
when sorting them.
