Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

After a recent update?? my key-binding for launching a new terminal (Alt -F1 in
my account) did not work. I launched the keybinding GUI and typed Alt-F1 for
this action and it read my keys as Alt-XF86Battery.
It nevertheless worked after that.
Next time I booted/logged in, same problem, but this time after resetting it
again, the key combination Alt-F1 still does nothing.

IT seems somthing is quite corrupted with the key-bindings.
