And for iPod Classic. Worked fine prior to Maverick upgrade.

Running Rhythmbox from the command line, I get the following output
(repeated at least once for each track) when adding tracks to the iPod:

** (rhythmbox:9198): CRITICAL **: itdb_splr_validate: assertion `at !=
ITDB_SPLAT_UNKNOWN' failed

Also, when looking at the listings for the artist in Rhythmbox, affected
albums whose titles begin with "The" appear under "T" rather than under
the first word after "T". So to give an example, albums called "The
Avalanche" and "The B.Q.E." added before this bug appear under "A" and
"B" respectively, while "The Age of Adz" appears under "T". Suggests
something is going awry with writing to the iPod's database.
