found the problem! it was the crossfading effect!! disabled it and now everything works properly.. sorry for that.. I always like to look and change/customize settings immediately instead of using the SW for some time first.. that's not very clever I know!
I think you can close the bug.. that's not a big problem at all having to disable the crossfading.. :P bye! ** Changed in: gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => moly82 (moly82) ** Summary changed: - When pressing previous/next song Rhythmbox crashes (listening to iPod only) - SIGSEGV in orc_x86_emit_push() + (WORKAROUND FOUND) When pressing previous/next song Rhythmbox crashes - SIGSEGV in orc_x86_emit_push() ** Description changed: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I'm on Maverick Meerkat, all updated to the very latest packages. When I connect my iPod to the USB port, and select Rhythmbox to listen to it on the dialog that appears, I can see the iPod content. Then I can play a song doubleclicking on it, but at this point if a want to skip the song and press the "next song" button (or also the "previous song" button) Rhythmbox crashes and I have to restart it. Also if I doubleclick on another song while I am listening another song it crashes. - Instead, if I wait for the song to finish, it automatically goes to the - next song without any problems. - - So as a temporary fix if I want to skip a song I go fast forward till - near the finish (let's say the song is 4:00 minutes, I go to 3:58), and - wait for it to automatically go to the next song. - Please fix it! Thanks! - - I have a pretty old iPod (iPod Photo 30gb), could this be the reason? - - If you need any logs let me know, I can post them tonight when I come - back home.. Anyway, congratulations for you work, last ubuntu (and rhythmbox) really rocks! REQUEST: please add the "browse by compilation" feature that is present in iTunes, this will organize much better our databases, reducing the number of artists and albums! + ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.30-1build2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.34-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Oct 14 20:24:14 2010 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/rhythmbox ProcCmdline: /usr/bin/rhythmbox ProcEnviron: - SHELL=/bin/bash - LANG=en_US.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + LANG=en_US.utf8 SegvAnalysis: - Segfault happened at: 0x6f45b66 <orc_x86_emit_push+102>: mov %al,(%edx) - PC (0x06f45b66) ok - source "%al" ok - destination "(%edx)" (0x00000000) not located in a known VMA region (needed writable region)! - Stack memory exhausted (SP below stack segment) + Segfault happened at: 0x6f45b66 <orc_x86_emit_push+102>: mov %al,(%edx) + PC (0x06f45b66) ok + source "%al" ok + destination "(%edx)" (0x00000000) not located in a known VMA region (needed writable region)! + Stack memory exhausted (SP below stack segment) SegvReason: writing NULL VMA Signal: 11 SourcePackage: gstreamer0.10 StacktraceTop: - orc_x86_emit_push () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 - orc_x86_emit_prologue () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 - orc_compiler_sse_assemble () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 - orc_program_compile_full () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 - orc_program_compile_for_target () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 + orc_x86_emit_push () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 + orc_x86_emit_prologue () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 + orc_compiler_sse_assemble () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 + orc_program_compile_full () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 + orc_program_compile_for_target () from /usr/lib/liborc-0.4.so.0 Title: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in orc_x86_emit_push() UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare XsessionErrors: - (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:1431): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed - (nautilus:1438): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_value_free: assertion `value != NULL' failed - (nautilus:1438): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_value_free: assertion `value != NULL' failed - (nautilus:1438): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_value_free: assertion `value != NULL' failed + (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:1431): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed + (nautilus:1438): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_value_free: assertion `value != NULL' failed + (nautilus:1438): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_value_free: assertion `value != NULL' failed + (nautilus:1438): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_value_free: assertion `value != NULL' failed -- (WORKAROUND FOUND) When pressing previous/next song Rhythmbox crashes - SIGSEGV in orc_x86_emit_push() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/660714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
