The patch does not work for me. I followed the instructions of Paul, except the upgrade to compiz 0.8.6, since Ubuntu 10.10 already contains that version. I enabled the Java fix in the CompizConfig window. If I open two images with ImageJ, after the opening the second one, the main window disappears from the taskbar. After minimizing all windows, it reappears.
