I have the same problem. After the updates from 11-16 I can not longer login to GDM on boot. I have used 10.10 since release without issue. I also have the ATI Radeon driver. No logs. If I stop GDM and start GDM in tty1 I sometimes can log in. X is ok. I can export a gnome-session to the display.
