Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
I have a .zip file and a .jar file. if I right-click and pick open with and set Java 6 runtime, the default setting for a .zip file changes as well and next time I open a .zip, it tries to execute it as .jar. Same is true for opposite if .zip file is opened with archive manager. Examining right-click properties suggests that mime-type for the .jar file is wrong: should say application/java-archive, but is application/zip . /etc/mime.types appears to be correct: konr...@oboe:~/work/idn$ grep jar /etc/mime.types application/java-archive jar konr...@oboe:~/work/idn$ grep zip /etc/mime.types # Note: Compression schemes like "gzip", "bzip", and "compress" are not application/zip zip ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: nautilus 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-26.48-generic 2.6.32.24+drm33.11 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-26-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Dec 9 17:29:24 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100427.1) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/688099 Title: nautilus Open With... last choice value affects all files of this type, not only the specific at hand -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
