I have similar problem, if not the same. When trying to open a certain network stream (http://217.30.180.253:8000/listen.pls, and also other streams at http://www.radiohelsinki.fi), rhythmbox freezes and only displays "connecting" message at the bottom-right corner. The same stream plays fine with totem-xine or vlc. This is a mp3-stream.
