Since no conclusions have been drawn regarding the cause of this issue, I'll add my two cents.
I have a laptop (Intel graphics) and a desktop (ATI graphics), both running 10.10 with Compiz and IIRC both have been upgraded from previous releases (if it is important -- is there any way to check this?). No dual boot on any of them. I experience this problem only on laptop. Coincidentally, I also change resolution regularly only on laptop when docking it, making it use an external monitor. Also, only laptop is ever suspended, desktop is always powered off. When I experience this problem on the laptop, killall -HUP gnome-panel always fixes it (I believe). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439448 Title: Visual corruption affecting several panel applets -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
