Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
When I boot the disk I get the following error message: """ There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon. Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly. The last error message was: Activation of org.gnome.SettingsDaemon timed out GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in. """ And the GTK theme is not setup correctly. However everything else seems to work and if I run "gnome-settings-daemon" in a terminal it starts fine and the theme switches to the correct one. This problem is not present on PowerPC (most recent daily iso). ** Affects: control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- GNOME Settings Daemon does not start properly on AMD64 desktop install disk https://launchpad.net/bugs/68048 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
