Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus-cd-burner
When burning an ISO file to a disc (for example, an Ubuntu ISO, as recommended on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto#Ubuntu), the "Write to Disc" window says "Select a disc to write to", and shows (with a blank CD) "Blank CD-R Disc: 4.4MB of free space". (See screenshot.) It is not clear that that 4.4MB is what will remain *after* the chosen ISO has been built: that is, that the CD size is actually 4.4MB *bigger* than the ISO. I thought that I had a broken CD which I'd previously burned as a coaster and so only had 4.4MB of space in total on it, and spent time going through my blank CDs to try and find one with enough "free space" to actually burn the ISO I want. Suggested fixes: 1. Say "Blank CD-R Disc: 702MB of free space" 2. Say "Blank CD-R Disc: 4.4MB more free space than needed" 3. Say "Blank CD-R Disc: enough space available" 4. Something else.
