Alexey, thanks for the patch. I bet you did not expect an answer after almost 3 years :) I am testing this in natty and the cursor does not disappear because mcedit shows <-----> instead of tabs. I could not quickly find a way to disable this to reproduce the symptoms you describe in the Debian bug report. I suggest if this still appears and it is reproducible, to open a bug in Gnome bugzilla on the VTE component, with steps to reproduce and link to that from this bugreport so we do not loose track. thank you
