SOLVED!!: Hi I just read some thread in a gentoo forum and it seems as if glib needs dconf to store settings. So I just manually installed "dconf-tools", "libdconf0" and "libdconf-dbus-1-0" and now it works.
I think this is just a missing dependancy for either glib or unity.
