Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
In 10.04 with all updates and 11.04 Desktop live CD, if I set the action
for closing the laptop lid to blank screens, then whenever I open the
lid after closing it the display settings change. I have an external
monitor, and closing and opening the lid results in different
combinations of screens being turned on and off, and mirrored mode
state.
In the 11.04 live CD after doing this a few times only the mouse pointer
was visible on an otherwise black screen(s), and I had to hardware turn
off the laptop.
I am using an Intel 965GM and a differently sized external monitor.
