Binary package hint: gnome-session-common
The file /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/2d-gnome.session contains the
line
Required-windowmanager=metacity
This should say
Required-windowmanager=gnome-wm
just like in classic-gnome.session, otherwise the users wm preference
will not be respected.
