Finally got it! Here's the xsession-errors for the day. Things appear to get interesting towards the end:
"The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 176234 error_code 8 request_code 2 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)" Followed by a bunch of messages about the style being changed. ** Attachment added: "xsession-errors" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/metacity/+bug/778630/+attachment/2141915/+files/xsession-errors -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/778630 Title: Metacity theme suddenly ignored -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
