Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

On a ThinkPad X220, the battery monitor usually fails to report the battery
level after unplugging. Though the time remaining is reported, the meter shows
with a red outline, as if it's completely out of power.
If the problem doesn't show up immediately after unplugging, try putting the
machine to sleep and restarting. Then the problem should occur.
