Gnome Power Manager is the package responsible for listening to the power menu and poking DeviceKit Power which in turn calls pm-suspend.
Something in that chain is going wrong, but it's definitely not pm- utils. Could you kill the gnome-power-manager process, and start it in a terminal with "gnome-power-manager --verbose", then close the lid and poke the suspend option in the power menu, then post the output here? ** Package changed: pm-utils (Ubuntu) => gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/808153 Title: Can no longer suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/808153/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
