I'm not surprised, it's working for me too but 1.7.2 is not the versions in dapper or edgy. The gnumeric version in dapper or in edgy are not good and it's a problem with the package because when I compiled them myself with the archive from gnumeric website, eveyrthing is working (version 1.7.0 or higher). Now I'm using a version I compiled myself on edgy (I upgraded when edgy became official but gnumeric does have some very nasty bug at this time).
