I've attached an example of what happens when the pointer unfreezes. The video is a bit faster than real life, but notice how the cursor grabs a window, shakes it around and then maximizes it, before returning control to the user. When this starts happening, it occurs very often - up to a few times a minute - making it nearly impossible to get any work done.
