Oh, actually it does not seem to be necessary... I just found the bug that seems to apply to your situation (bug #856988) -- it seems to be a problem that only occurs after upgrades from natty to oneiric. Could you try whether running rm -r ~/.gstreamer-0.10 fixes the issue for you?
