Yes, but the Ubuntu System Panel draws its program list from Alacarte's
configuration.

Gnome-control-center did not just add itself to the menu. If it did that, I 
wouldn't care.
The problem is, that is removed all of the System > Preferences and System > 
Administration .desktop files.
I fail to understand why these files would be removed. I don't understand how 
it could benefit any user.
