Anything would probably be an improvement over the current dialog in
Dapper. I have to come in and start up a couple machines a week from
folks with walnut-sized brains who are accustomed to clicking the lower
right button on any popup window they're too lazy to read. In this
case, they select 'shutdown,' (the shiny red button on the lower right)
and as they're walking off to go sniff glue and forget about their
computing experience, the computer is merrily shutting itself down.

This wouldn't be the nightmare it is, if there was a way to disable
shutdown privileges for GNOME, but I can't find a way to do that. The
next best thing would be to put something less intrusive in the lower
right.

Anybody know where to buy a cattle prod that can be activated via
bluetooth?
