Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04 Intel i7-2630QM
When I use Sound Recorder as a non-root user to record in MP4, the saved file cannot be played back. Not even by the root user. The error message is: This file contains no playable streams. However I am able to record in MP4 if I run as root: sudo gnome-sound-recorder I do not face this problem as a non-root user when I choose an encoding other than MP4. ** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1057324 Title: gnome-sound-recorder MP4 encoding works only for root user To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-media/+bug/1057324/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
