I have the same hard disk, a 4T My Book from WD and I have the same problem. The details might be a little off because I am not at work at the moment.
I used gparted to create a GUID Partition Table and created a ~3.8T partition and a ~100G partition. Disk Utility correctly identified the partitions, but could not identify the partition table. It characterised the partition table as unknown. I could not delete or modify the partitions using disk utility. My computer is a Dell desktop running 12:10 64 bit. Should I open a new bug since this one is expired. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1083644 Title: Palimpsest does not support gparted GPT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/1083644/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
