Public bug reported: Hello!
I thought it might be something normal for a tool to see running applications and other live information about system to use 5-10+ % of processor, but since I recently tried Xubuntu and that script uses almost no resources, I made my mind to report it as a bug. It can either be fixed by changing what makes the default system monitor in Ubuntu consume so much of our processor, or change it from the distribution. It is true, the Xubuntu script is simpler, but the main part is the one showing processor&memory&etc. of the running applications, and that one is just perfect. Just now I installed the KDE tool, ksysguard. And this one consumes 1-2% of processor, compared to 5-15% of gnome-system-monitor. If the Gnome team does not find a fix for this, please to replace it with something that works. Ksysguard is really really good, a lot better. Thank you!
