This bug is mean, I was lucky that the option "Automatic Login" was enabled, otherwise I wouldn't be able to login again as typing the password did nothing, I don't know if it's possible to login as root through the login screen, but I was able to do so through the su command once logged in (automatically). Afterwards 'passwd' solve the problem.
