This error message just started for me yesterday, and as far as I'm aware I only did two things: 1) I tried installing enlightenment -- but because it didn't work properly I "completely" uninstalled it using Synaptic Package Manager. 2) in the same session I changed the theme of Gnome
After rebooting the computer I received this error, I have not yet tried the solutions posted above.
